About the collection
One strand, two colors
Aisslinger's aim with a chair is an archetype: a simple form that feels as if it had always been around and invites people in without effort. Cirql Nu keeps the idea of the collection and changes the material. Dedon calls it the next evolution of Cirql and of the brand's own DNA.
The change is invert fiber. Dedon makes it by co-extrusion, pushing two fiber colors and two fiber types into a single strand. Woven by hand, that strand forms geometric patterns with a 3D effect and a sheen that looks almost iridescent as your viewing angle changes. The two colorways are invert twilight and invert nightfall.
The pieces are light and partly see-through. You can choose an armchair, a lounge chair with a footstool, a bistro table and a side table, which covers a small dining spot and a lounge corner. Dedon expects the collection to work indoors as well as out, and it offers cushion fabrics from families such as Natura, Tucson, Gaia and Muse.
Dedon develops and produces its fiber in northern Germany and weaves its furniture on Cebu Island in the Philippines. To clean the surface, use a soft cloth or brush with warm water and a mild cleanser. Keep alcohol and solvents off the fiber, and put coasters under drinks on the tables.

The designer
Werner Aisslinger
Berlin designer Werner Aisslinger founded his studio in 1993 and works across furniture, hotel interiors and brand architecture. His work has appeared at institutions including the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
