About the collection
An archipelago you arrange yourself
Bellini started from the atolls of Polynesia, the ring-shaped islands of the Pacific. He treated the collection as an archipelago: separate pieces that you place in relation to each other. The modular approach lets you shape a lounge area around your own space instead of a fixed sofa layout.
Each piece sits low and solid, anchored to the ground. The backrests slope back at a gentle angle, which Bellini links to the feeling of drifting from one island to the next. He credits Dedon Fiber with letting the team keep his first idea of organic forms while delivering a clean finish and comfort.
Atolo comes in two color variants. Each one weaves three related tones of Dedon Fiber together, so every piece carries three shades in one surface. Up close you see the tones cross each other in the weave. For cushions you can choose from fabric families such as Natura, Caleo, Tucson, Gaia, Muse, Nube and Borneo.
Dedon weaves every piece by hand on Cebu Island in the Philippines, using fiber from its own facilities in northern Germany. The fiber holds up to chlorine, salt water and UV, which suits a pool deck or a coastal garden. Clean it with a soft brush and warm water, and keep solvents off the surface.

Claudio Bellini
Claudio Bellini, born in 1963, is an architect and designer who runs his own practice in Milan, founded in 1996. The studio is known for work that balances beauty with efficiency across many cultures and markets.
